As expected the whole “we’re not hiring new employees this year” thing was a half-lie.
I should have known the show would not keep me hanging. We got more than we could have asked for in this Nene job interview with Aoba and Umiko-kun.
Nene applied for a job interview to become a part-time programmer at Eagle Jump. I won’t go into details but let’s just say this more than made up for not having a scene featuring Nene showing her finished game to Umiko-kun.
I eagerly await the thoughts of a certain person. She knows who she is. As usual I want full details on your reaction to this interview.
After Nene and Umiko-kun finished discussing the terms for Nene’s employment she went to tell Aoba the good news and saw the PECO sketches. She knew right away the character art and Ko’s key visuals didn’t match and had a gut feeling they were designed by Aoba. Aoba told her she was the Internal Designer. Nene greatly complimented Aoba for her great work and moving up the ladder so to speak. Nene’s encouraging words lifted a heavy weight off of Aoba’s mind.
We then went to a bar where Christina was revealed to have also disapproved of Ko being chosen for the key visuals when the character art was clearly Aoba’s. She’s also very worried about our heroines having a bad impression of her. Director Hazuki had a plan that would instantly change how everyone viewed her. Said plan was quite clever but I’ll leave viewers to see for themselves what it was.
We learned that Christina’s half-French and has an issue with people touching her. Best to not ask why until the show gives a decent explanation…unless it had something to do with her family. Honestly I won’t give it too much thought. Anyway the ladies saw she wasn’t all bad and everything sort of worked out nicely.
Following that the wait for the remaining new girls’ debut would soon be over. The ladies discussed where the two newbies would be sitting and who may need to move to a new cubicle. The best reactions were Yun’s (seen above) and Hifumi’s towards their respective love interests.
Introducing Tsubame Narumi and Momiji Mochizuki, the new interns! Tsubame’s the upbeat one while Momiji’s timid, which reminded Aoba of a certain someone. We learned that Momiji (Momo for short) is also a huge Ko fan like Aoba before her. She could tell right away that something was odd about the key visuals and the internal art. Some peeps brought this up in the last episode about companies needing to be careful when it came to the key visuals. Super fans like Momo and even Nene could tell right away that something was odd. It’s cool how the show addressed that in this episode.
The newbies’ introduction was a most interesting one to say the least as Momo seemed to see Aoba as a rival, especially because while she didn’t exactly love the character designs she respected Aoba’s skills.
Looking forward to more from everyone as the second half of the 2nd season continues. We even got a new ED!
