Izetta: The Last Witch Episode 11: Final Resolve

The finale is nigh. Let’s find out if this episode gave us a small glimmer of hope for our heroines.

Fine being threatened.jpg

Not at first but keep reading.

Our heroes weren’t able to stay hidden for long as the Germanian soldiers eventaully found their secret hideout.

Izetta using the Magic Stone’s power.

Obviously it was only a matter of time before Izetta unleashed her gay witch rage on the accursed Nazis who dared hurt her beloved Archduchess. She whooped their asses good using a brick storm. Unfortunately due to her using the Magic Stone’s power to give her a major boost her life force was slowly drained the longer she used it.

Berkman turning on Germania.jpg

Berkman betrays Germania.

As expected from Berkman, he wasn’t going away quietly, especially when the Kaiser secretly ordered for him to be executed.

Magic Nuke.jpg

Magic nuke.

Berkman turned himself in and made a deal with Shady Guy in a cool scene where the two dirtiest players in the game met face to face. Berkman offered to reveal Germania’s grand master plan in exchance for free passage into Eylstadt and protection after the war. Germania’s plan was to unveil their magic nukes at a global conference held in Westria, thus threatening all world leaders to give control of their countries to Germania lest they wanted to get nuked like Eylstadt would soon be.

Shady Guy was disgusted by Berkman because unlike him who would do whatever it took to protect his country Berkman only cared about himself.

Izetta slapping Fine.jpg

Izetta slapping Fine.

At a meeting discussing Germania’s “Operation Nuke Eylstadt” plan Fine seemed to have lost all hope. Germania had overwhelming firepower on their side, her country was about to be destroyed and it seemed that the only way to take down Sophie Clone and the advanced Germanian weapons was with Izetta risking her life, possibly for the last time, using the Magic Stone. I don’t blame Fine for having lost her cool . Izetta literally slapped some sense into her, reminding her what the two had fought so hard for all this time and not to give up after coming this far. Fine thanked Izetta for reminding her of her royal badasssitude.

Fine and Izetta longing for one another.jpg

I was planning on going crazy and writing in large hyperbole how…magical…this scene was but I’m sure I don’t need to say a word.

Next time FineZetta make their last stand against Germania. Will they not only succeed but both survive!? That is the million dollar question. The odds are still 5% of them surviving but it’s better than 0%. Hopefully the conversation the two had during the magical moment is a sign of hope. Still dunno whether to discuss the finale and then post the  G-View or just write the G-View. We’ll see.

I’d say their chances are at about 80%, if not higher. The magic plot device was activated. The one thing that can withstand 100s of death flags. The tried and true scene that shoots bullet holes through situations that seem altogether desparate: “I found out something and have a plan” fade to black Transition like nothing has changed
Call me crazy, but I think because of that single scene, Izetta will find a way for the both of them to live a life together after the war, regardless of the stone’s magic.

I would have raised the percentage thanks to that one scene alone but you never know. The writers could suspect that smart animeniacs have a feeling that one scene will lead to our heroines surviving and snuggling past the credits but when it comes to this show it pays to be careful. Hopefully our suspicions will be correct and that one conversation will lead to a Yuri Nation victory.

AAAAAAAHHHHH! That “broomstick-riding-in-the-moonlight-with-the-“call-me-by-my-name”-trope-included” scene! Almost made all this pain worthwhile, it was so beautiful. They totally kissed there at some point, btw. Personal headcanon says so. And there’s likely a reason they didn’t show us that mountain-top conversation fully, too.

So potential ending number #4, aka best ending is basically out now, huh? Or at least extremely unlikely. Only one episode left, it doesn’t seem like enough time for Izetta to convince Sophie to change her mindset. That said, I could be wrong about this and there might be just enough time for it. But I’m betting it’ll go in different direction, unfortunately. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong.

Jerkman appearing again quite so soon I didn’t expect based on last episode’s dialogue, but makes sense he couldn’t quite just disappear like that. That punch in the face he finally got felt very satisfying indeed. Completely and utterly deserved. That said, just how exactly did the fighter pilot just happen to be there at the final checkpoint, and Sophie seem somewhat prepared for Izetta’s arrival? Was it in truth a clever double-cross after all, and Germania’s leadership knew Berkman would tell Fíne and her advisors about the plan and they would come to stop it? Was that the real plan all along and if so, will this end well at all?

So, I was right about the bomb. My bad vibes about that thing and the destruction it will almost undoubtedly cause someone somewhere, if not now then perhaps some time later, increase even further.

They kissed? Please…they totally did the naughty deed on the mountain top!

You know a show stretches the subtext to far when even /a/ gets frustrated not seeing a kiss.

Did I or did I not say this was going to be AOTS when it started?!
They have to have kissed, why would there be that sudden drop when they were flying unless something suddenly distracted Izetta…
Either way, I think it is genuinely safe to say (Not the ‘so close you might as well say’) that Finé x Izetta is canon.

Yea, I’m with you guys, they totally did something, be it during their moonlight flight or on that mountain top. There was at least a kiss, no doubt, but honestly my goggles make me think they went even beyond that and my head cannon says they did for sure. Anyway, I feel optimistic about their chances, though I can’t say the same about their friends. If they do get their happy ending, then it’s the law of nature that there will have to be a cost somewhere else, but hey, maybe they’ll surprise us. Either way, I’m so looking forward to the finale.

    p.s.-Hell yeah they’re canon!

That scene with them riding on the broomstick, totally expected a kiss there as it felt like it was setting up for that. Maybe off camera or something. Great scene though, they’re a really cute couple. Gonna miss this show when it ends next week, favorite of mine this season for sure.

What’s up OG, remember me? My laptop have served it’s purpose so I borrowed somebody’s tablet and not missed this opportunity to comment here on this crucial episode of Izetta. I think the world need more of this night yuri broom ride from our OTP before this series end. Some trivia tho, those so called Germanian magic nuke resembles those V2 rockets that bombard London and I just saw some Flakpanzer Wirbelwind anti aircraft tanks near the end of the episode.

All that was missing from the scene with Izetta and Fine was a kiss, that was the only thing missing!!!!

I’m going to forgo my usual list of the HUNDREDS OF DEATH FLAGS!!!!! And gush about how great everyone was. Sieg showed his true character as he was really torn up about giving Izetta the Stone. At first, I thought he did it to make up for his family betraying the original White Witch. However, it seems to me that Sieg felt even giving it to Izetta was a betrayal in itself.

Who else fell in love with Bianaca? She may be a tough Royal Guard, but, she has a creamy, marshmallow center! Her tears on Izetta’s behalf were beautiful.

And let’s not EVER forget the magic broomstick ride! I kept waiting for someone to break into “A Whole New World!” Izetta went old school with the broomstick. (Representin’ Original Witchcraft in here! Shout-out to my girl Kiki!)

The way Fine caressed Izetta’s face and the way Izetta just MELTED into her.Yeah. Ortfine Frederika von Eylstadt isn’t just Gay. She has MOVES!

I just have a terrible feeling that this is the showrunners giving us what we want before they take it all away. I know that war is Hell, but, this is historical fiction. Couldn’t we bend the rules a little?

It showed us that even though Sieg plays dirty it has always been for the greater good and it is not like he never cared nor acknowledged the consequences of his actions. It sucks hard having to do what he does but he feels like he’s left with little to no other choice in those situations.

Bianca has always been a great character. Her loyalty to her comrades and our leading ladies is second to none. From the moment she saw Izetta’s resolve to fight for Fine and all of Eylstadt, Bianca became her friend for life.

Izetta must have taken notes from Aladdin and Kiki’s Delivery Service..

Fine’s badassery and smootheness are two of her top four defining traits.

The odds of them surviving are very slim but not zero.

How this anime could end (but probably won’t):
-Izetta and Fine celebrate the defeat of both Sophie and the not-Nazis with a on screen kiss.
-They discover one of Sophie’s back up bodies that is not fully grown and doesn’t have any of memories to which they decide to adopt.
-The archduchess, her retired wife and their adopted daughter lives happily ever after.

If the worse case scenario does happen, the above scenario will likely be used by myself (or anyone else, if they wish) for a fanfic to give the story a happier ending.

This episode give me so much relieved a last for this weak.
We need Izetta get a happy ending specially in this season and people who are watching Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku had some happiness in they Saturdays.
The broom scene was perfect for a kiss scene but they don’t use, hard get better oportunity.

You know, I was too hard on Siegfried. I knew he only did the drastic things he did for the greater good of his country and yet I lashed out at him. Of course he wasn’t thrilled about giving Izetta that stone! There just were no other options. That discussion between him and Berkman was good and showed us how different their ways of thinking actually are.

Poor Bianca. She really didn’t want Izetta to suffer anymore but she knew that Izetta would take the offer and there was nothing she could do to change her mind.

Finé was depressed as heck, to the point of thinking of surrendering after hearing about Germania’s latest plans. She also blamed herself for basically opening Pandora’s Box. Well, Izetta didn’t like that she was putting all the burden on herself and had to remind her that they were in this together!

What an extremely lovely night for a romantic broom ride through the woods. Yeah, they definitely kissed on the descent.

Now then, the final battle is upon us! We’ll just have to wait and see how they’ll wrap things up.

I’m hoping that the parallels between Sophie’s love life and Izetta’s is realized after their fight. Maybe Sophie will see that Izetta has a chance to repeat history without the back stabbing.

  19. It has been a while now. The moon-riding scene was really romantic and it felt like Izetta and Fine did kiss during that time. However, it is time for Izetta to fight Sophie again. And honestly, I find Izetta x Bianca to be a cute couple.

Just OMG, that scene was just so perfect, the music, the scenary, Fine and Izetta being so gay with each other, I would say is up there as a legendary yuri moment; after the painful last couple of episodes, I say that was a really good pay off for all the stress our heroines went through.

I’m feeling hopeful for the final episode, after that scene, there is hope for a happy ending and even if we don’t get that, this couple has been a joy to watch. One of my highlights of the season for sure.
