Hopefully I won’t get swamped again during the Winter 2017 season. As always whenever I announce my seasonal anime picks the list is subject to change and I shall update it whenever that happens. I won’t split the shows between MUST WATCH and CURIOSITIES this time around as all of these look like they’re right up my alley.

SCHOOLGIRLS STRIKERS Animation Channel: Looks like another super armored girls show. Works for me.
Kobayashi-chan Chi no Maidragon: I’ve said this several times when it comes to KyoAni and this show. All KyoAni has to do, besides wirte a good script, is keep the lesbians on the show openly gay and not do the “KyoAni thing” by making their gayness subtle or ambiguous. Be it romantic or horny, NO HOLDING BACK!
BanG Dream: Another all-girl music club or band themed anime. I like that too.
Urara Meirochou: A girls club show about a group of fortune tellers.
Minami Kamakura Koukou Joushi Jitensha-Bu: Another bicycle girls club show. Hopefully this one won’t suffer a delay halfway through.
nyanko-days: I predict this anime will try to kill me with cuteness.
Gabriel Dropout: Girls club show featuring angels and demons. Heard really good things about this one.
Idol Jihen: Another idol show.
Kemono Friends: More cute chibi animal girls.
Little Witch Academia TV: I’m sure many animeniacs are eagerly anticipating this one.

Unlikely thatt the trend will end anytime soon so it’s best to find the shows with the strongest yuri vibes while waiting for the ones that don’t hold back on the yuri at all.

My own list (currently anyway) –
Interested:
Akiba Strip – game was pretty fun, maybe since this doesn’t have to have routes, we could some yuritext (the game had a decent amount, so hopefully they can go more all out this time)
Granblue Fantasy – Game apparently has actual yuri couple/s, so I’ll give it a try
Idol Jihen – Aidorus!
Kemono Friends – might be interesting, depending on where they go with it
Konosuba S2 – (Not ready for Megumin being turned into a piece of the harem pie ;_; )
Piace: watashi no Italian – Could be amusing
Schoolgirl Strikers – Waiting for more info first. While it sounds neat, “team leader” could easily be a guy and this could be a boring harem. Heck, it could be a girl and still do that…
Will Watch:
BanG Dream! – Looks like it might be another half live half anime project. Should be interesting!
Gabriel Dropout – Read some of the manga, absolutely loved it!
Kobayashi – Love the manga, but Kyo-ani….
Nyanko Days – Read a couple chapters, and it is all levels of my sort of show~
Urara Meirochou – I like occult sort of stories, so pretty hype for this!
Ai Mai Mi – Season 2 was a bit off at times, but hopefully season 3 will fully remedy that!
Little Witch Academia – #StillNeedsToSeeTheOVAs
Minami Kamakura Highschool Bicycle club – Should be interesting!

Why so critical of Kyoani when it comes to adaptations? If anything they ADD to the yuri and do not take it away 😉

They have this thing where they like to skimp out on any real romance that happens in something they adapt from.
Also, they already destroyed the art style of the manga, which I am rather fond of

Exactly, i don’t get the deal with Kyoani, i have not watched all their shows but the ones i have have always been good adaptation, the romance in most of them is pretty good, they gave us Clannad and two full Clannad OVAs with nothing but romance, K-On! with as much yuri subtext as the manga, Tamako Love Story and some that didn’t have a “fullfilling” romance like Amaburi or Hyouka was not their fault, they just adapted exactly what the source material gave them…

oh nvm that comment about season 2 being off. That was the spinoff that wasn’t really up to snuff. Season 2 of Ai Mai Mii was pretty great actually, now that I remember.

The ones I picked are shows I’ll most likely cover unless some of the concerns you mentioned pop up, like the team captain being revealed to be a het-harem lead. Otherwise if some of the shows you mentioned surprise us then maybe they’ll be surprise additions.

I hope this season is good. So far I’m only intersted in the one with lesbian charizard and witch academia which I hope they dont f*ck up somehow.
I’ll have to check some of the other PV’s.

The stuff I’ll be watching for winter is pretty much exactly what you have listed here. The three shows I’m most anticipating are Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Little Witch Academia and Gabriel Dropout.

I’m really looking forward to the winter season. And I’m most excited about one: Kobayashi-chan Chi no Maidragon, I totally agree there should be no holding back on this one whatsoever hopefully KyoAni would just let the characters be freely gay, and two: Little Witch Academia TV, how I missed this 😀

Not a lot really stands out for me next season, I’ve only got 13 so far but out of the shows you listed above, 5 are on my list. Honestly the only show that I’m actually really hyped for has to be Konosuba S2. Nothing else really grabs my attention, but I’m sure there will be some shows that catch me by surprise. Either way, I look forward to another season of your thoughts on the shows you’ll be watching.

On rare occasion they do have a lesbian come out but most of the time they have the audience fill in the blanks. In Euphonium it’s more pandering than giving, which lucky for them is working. Still unsure whether they’ll do the right thing, mess it up or maintain the staus quo of pandering subtlety.
With Dragon Maid they can’t go the subtle route again, nor can they have the lesbian character lose like they did in Tamako Market.

Schoolgirl Strikers Animation Channel: Mobile games developed by Square Enix gets a manga adaptation, light novel adaptation and TV Anime adaptation, I’m excited to see yuri pairing: Io x Mana 😀
BanG Dream: My dream comes true 😀 BanG_Dream! gets TV Anime Adaptation, hopefully the anime will gets good yuri like Love Live! Sunshine!! 😀 Kasumi (MC) x Arisa x Saaya 😀 BanG Dream! gets a manga adaptation, novel adaptation and mobile games too.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maidragon: Hopefully KyoAni would just let the girls be freely yuri.
Urara Meirochou: The manga gets good rating in the Japanese yuri blog, hopefully the anime will gets good yuri like Kiniro Mosaic or GochiUsa.
