For readers wondering why I have yet to upload the Q&A video, to quote the late, great Satoru Iwata, “Please understand”. I didn’t plan ahead in regards to time and location. Let me put it this way, the right moment to record the video is currently being determined by random luck. It’s still going to happen but I don’t know when.
Anyway that gives me time to accept several awards I had received in recent months starting with DrAnimeniac nominating for the third Liebster Award I had received. Many thanks for that doc! Since this is the third one I won’t be nominating anyone this time. That will come in the next award.
1: Why did you start your blog?
At first to share my thoughts on anime and games with people who were interested but as time passed and I promoted more yuri than anything else it slowly evolved into a yuri centric blog with some Girls Club anime on the side. Now the blog exists to primarily spread the yuri love across the digital world and promote love between women in the animated, drawn and digital forms in a positive light. I don’t do live-action shows because there are other sites like AfterEllen that do it far better than I could.
2: Favorite anime of all time?
Don’t have a best of the best right now, instead I will say the one I enjoyed most in 2014 was Yuki Yuna wa Yuusha de Aru.
3: The first anime that made you cry (or at least touched you very deeply)
Kannazuki no Miko.
4: Your anime guilty pleasure?
Mostly ECCHIMANIA shows, meaning anime featuring well-endowed women and cute girls who beat each other to a pulp usually wearing attire that will more often than not get shredded. Most of the ones I like got panned hard. The most recent one I enjoyed a lot but 99% of the aniblogging community panned was Sekatsuyo.
5: Who is your favorite anime waifu?
I rarely label any anime girls as “my waifu”, even when I repeatedly compliment them on their attractiveness and/or coolness. There have been two recent ones I have labeled “my waifu”. Those would be Nanoha StrikerS’ Subaru Nakajima and Yuyushiki’s “Mom”.
6: Favorite anime genre?
7: What got you into anime?
I dunno. I was enjoying anime long before I realized what anime were, what differentiated them from Western cartoons to be exact. I like anime more than cartoons now because of their plots, settings and preference of human shaped beings over anthropomorphic animals, talking objects/living furniture/items/food/etc.
8: How many years have you been watching anime faithfully?
As many as professional wrestling, over 2 decades.
9: Favorite pastimes or hobbies other than anime?
Video games, walking/jogging/climbing the local mountain, thinking.
10: If you could have a second season or continue any anime, which would it be?
Sakura Trick, Sasameki Koto, Panty and Stocking, Yuyushiki, Sekatsuyo.
11: Do you prefer subbed, dubbed or are indifferent when watching anime?
Depends on the kind of anime and the dub quality. I usually go for subs but there have been times I watched dubs without a problem and rare preferred them over the subs, such as Hyperdimension Neptunia TV, Attack on Titan and Space Dandy.
