OG’s Winter 2015 Anime Picks

With Winter fast approaching I figured I’d share my picks for the season. As is the case with most anibloggers the picks may change based on progress, word of mouth from reliable sources and mood. Source: https://livechart.me/winter My picks will be based on this chart and if some shows do not air this Winter I’ll wait for them Spring or Summer.

Yuri Kuma Arashi Poster

Yuri Kuma Arashi. My #1 pick of the season. I’ve covered this show and shared my thoughts on it several times already so I won’t repeat myself. I am both excited and concerned. Also it’s being hyped as a Grade 1 yuri anime.

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love! For longtime followers who read my Kore-wa Zombie Desu-ka review I thought the Masou Shoujo concept sucked. Also a magical girl wielding a chainsaw looked stupid to me. MAGICAL PRETTY BOYS ON THE OTHER HAND…THAT I can easily accept. Will include coverage of this show in my First Impressions pack once OG’s Anime Island is open for business.

Kantai Collection

Kantai Collection. Even without the plethora of yuri doujin this series has I still would have picked this show up because it’s “mili-moe”. The show will have JP CGI. Thankfully, unlike diehard Blu-Ray collectors and graphic whores, that will not affect my viewing experience at all. For those that loathe JP CGI…it is what it is.

Cinderella Girls

Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls. I will HOPEFULLY review The Idolm@ster and the movie this month…hopefully. Apparently this show will also have some JP CGI in it. My stance is the same as with KC.

Dog Days” (Dog Days 3). Another show I need to finish is DD 2. Heard good things about it. I thought the first season was decent but had its own charm to make it worth a second watch sometime in the future. Anyway I hope I’ll be ready for season 3.

Rolling Girls

Rolling Girls

After seeing the show’s second preview I noticed it will be weird. I like weird.

Koufuku Graffiti

Koufuku Grafitti. Something tells me Blue Variance and Marina-chan are keeping a sharp eye on this one. To me it looks like another Girls Club show and that’s all I need.

Tantei Kageki Milky Holmes TD. I don’t know whether Milky Holmes 4 will air this Winter or Spring but when it does I’ll be ready. The cover alone tells me it’ll be back to business as usual unlike the failed experiment that was Milky Holmes 3. More on that when I get back to it.

Military! Not sure about this one. Something about it gives me bad vibes. Maybe it’s the male lead. We’ll see what happens.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu. I’m not expecting anything as grand as Barakamon and Nozaki-kun but I’m sure this show will at least make me chuckle. We’ll see.

Junketsu no Maria

Junketsu no Maria. This one was recommended to me by Eclectic Dude. I’m not sure what to expect. Maybe a more erotic Slayers or Scrapped Princess. I’m interested nonetheless.

About OG-Man

Yuri and Slice of Life are my anime passion.

Ah yes, Kantai Collection and Cinderella Girls – both series known for the ridiculously huge number of girls in them. Oh well, thanks to their anime both should have an even bigger explosion of yuri doujinshi so looking forward to that. I’m also looking forward to which girls being your favorites, OG.

  2. I’m probably only gonna check out KanColle, Junketsu no Maria, the Masou Shonen anime and Koufuku Graffiti. Great list though.

your “must watch” list mostly mirrors my plan to watch list, but drop binan koukou, add Aldnoah Zero, Log Horizon 2 and Aassassination classroom. Also, I’ll be continuing to watch PriPara of course. Well, assuming things don’t go really wrong before the end (signs are pointing towards that likely happening…)

I like Boys Club anime. Not as much as Girls Club ones but they have their own charm.
I told you a sometime ago that I’ll wait for Zero to end. Log Horizon will probably be reserved for Anime Island.

How so with PriPara? Is it something unfavorable towards our cause?

Since I read the manga, let me tell you abit of what to expect in Koufuku Graffiti:
girls-centric! girls! no significant males! no important het relations! and of course, the main point of the series, Erotic Food Eating with Girls.

We have some good anime coming in on winter 2015. What I’m most hyped up for is Kuroko no Basket 3, it’s gonna amazing. As for the yurish anime I guess I’ll put my hopes on Kantai Collection and on Cinderella Girls

  6. Hanneman says:

Well, i was thinking this season would be weak but it doesnt look like so. My picks are the two obvious, Yuri Kuma and KanColle; the pretty boys one, which looks absolutely ridiculous but fun anyway; and finally Koufuku Graffiti, ‘cuz Girls Club, thats what.

I wish i’d seen Idolm@ster before to check this one out, but it also has a movie, so maybe later. Also, is Dog Days some parody comedy type of anime? Because that pink haired chick totally gives off a Madoka vibe, except for the cat ears and tail.

    • Overlord-G says:

Also cute girls eating food while acting naughty doing so. Yeah Koufuku Graffiti looks sweet.

Take your time and check it out before Cinderella Girls premieres unless your schedule is THAT packed.

Dog Days and Madoka premiered in the same year and the same season of Spring 2011. Also DD’s a fun fantasy anime while Madoka’s a dark magical girl anime.
