Hyperdimension Neptunia TV: CPUs and Candidates’ Artwork

Man. Can’t this anime come any sooner!? I think the only person eagerly anticipating this show, besides fellow Neptunia fans, is yours truly. As far as I know, I’m the Neptunia guy in the aniblogosphere. Heck, if it weren’t for my hatred of iPhones, I would have downloaded the Neptnuia App toute suite. Anyway, on to the main topic. This time we’re taking a preview of the possible anime appearance of the four CPU Goddesses and the CPU Candidates (aka, the imoutos). No trailers yet but you bet your behinds I’ll post them as soon as they go viral.

For the love of all that is good on this planet, do not tarnish the story and cast by introducing characters who will be annoying enough to warrant immediate impalement!

Oh, one update before getting to the pics:

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory’s release has been delayed from March 12th to March 21st. Meh, no big deal. I don’t think I’ll be able to buy any new games till Summer vacation.

Back in the year of Neptunia Mk2, there was a popularity poll on the entire cast and Neptune got 2nd place with Nepgear in 3rd. Now, apparently, Nepgear is more popular than Neptune. Fans should really make up their minds. Personally, I kinda agree with Nepgear being a more likable character because she’s cuter and has more character, as evidenced in Mk2. Neptune is a classic anime protagonist (energetic, powerful and not very bright.) but the reason I like her is because of her English voice actress, Melissa Fahn. She gives Neptune diversity by having her talk like a hippie or  late 70’s-80’s chick. Rie Tanaka’s Neptune sounds so generic to me. Oh well, on with the anime art style, that may change in the official release.

First, the CPU Candidates, along with their seiyuu:

Nepgear (Yui Horie)

Rom (Yui Ogura)

Ram (Kaori Ishihara)

I think they wanted to give the White Sisters casual clothing because having them wear their coats indoors, like in the games, would be weird. Anyway, Rom will probably be competing with Nepgear for fan favorite among the CPU Candidates.

Next up is the original quartet.

Neptune and Purple Heart (Rie Tanaka)

Neptune Anime

Purple Heart animeOddly enough, Neptune is wearing her outfit from Victory rather than her jacket from the previous two games. Maybe that’s just her default gear.

Noire and Black Heart (Asami Imai)

Noire animeBlack Heart animeI still like her PS1-inspired HDD form better but whatever. I expect her to become the #1 favorite of the show.

Vert and Green Heart (Rina Satou)

Vert animeGreen Heart animeIt’s no surprise that Vert looks as lovely as ever in anime form. It’s a shame she isn’t voiced by Mamiko Noto, but Rina Satou did a great job in the games, so it’s no biggie.

Blanc and White Heart (Kana Asumi)

Blanc AnimeWhite Heart animeI wonder if my opinions on Blanc will change in the anime version? I doubt it. She’ll probably remain my least liked goddess.
