OG’s Winter 2011/2012 watchlist

Well, here we are again with yet another preview of the shows I have chosen to watch and possibly cover in the next 3 months. Let’s begin, shall we?

Looks like this will be the horror anime (Possibly #1 anime) the animeniacs will be keeping their eyes on and so will I.

Black Rock Shooter TV: I don’t know whether this will air on Winter or Spring but when it does, I won’t deny it.

Danshi Koukusei no Nichijou (Daily Lives of High School Boys): OG-‘s nickname: Macho Nichijou. This show should entertain me while I wait for the 2nd season of Kimi to boku.

Inu x Boku – Secret Service: I have no idea what to expect from this one but consider me intrigued nevertheless.

Kill me Baby: Please let there be yuri in this show, please let there be yuri in this show, please let there be yuri in this show, please let there be yuri in this show.

Mouretsu Pirates: Same as Kill me Baby, but add the word pirates behind yuri, yuri pirates.

I really need to catch up on Natsume Yujinchou sooner or later.

Nisemonogatari: the sequel to Bakemonogatari. Need I say more?

Rinne no Lagrange: A 2nd season of this show is already planned. See Kill me Baby for my thoughts on this show.

Milky Holmes 2: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Recorder to Randoresu: Read the post below. Just read it.

Say what? Are those images from my site? lol!
I’ve only decided on a few anime like Another, Amagami SS+, Black Rock Shooter, Rinne no Lagrange, Kill Me Baby, Kyousogiga, and Nisemonogatari. Need to find some more anime to watch 😀

I believe Black Rock Shooter starts around 3 February. Kill me Baby always makes me think of the old Yuri HIme S series Shinigami Alice, though they are on the complete opposite ends of the comedy-drama spectrum. (It was rather dark, quite violent, and extremely yuririffic.) Too bad it was one of the series that was canceled when Yuri Hime and Yuri Hime S combined.

Anyway, I am looking forward to Kill Me Baby, Mouretsu Pirates, and Rinne no Lagrange and I really, really, hope there is some good Yuri in them all.

By the way, what do you think of about Senki Zesshō Symphogear? You can find extremely spoiler filled reviews (troll level spoilers as the writer put it) of the first episode already online. (There was a special pre-screening event in December.)

Yup, we talked about BRS’ premiere date but still, whenever it premieres, it’s a must watch.

Kill me Baby had better be longer than 3 minutes per episode. As for Shinigami Alice, did that manga finish yet? I have a few chapters of it stored somewhere but I haven’t read them yet.

As for Senki Zessho Symphogear, I’m still waiting for the official first episode to decide since I don’t care much for trailers. I don’t know where to find the first episode subbed so I’ll let you know when I see it.

You know, it surprises me that Prince of Tennis is still popular with girls. I guess they’re the boy band of anime/manga.

      • Stevie Nix says:

As in my previous comment, as far as I can tell, Shinigami Alice was canceled when Yuri Hime and Yuri HIme S were combined into one publication. I think there was only four chapters and an omake. Hell maybe a couple years from now Comic High will pick it up to finish it like they did with Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry Blossom Pink.

Symphogear actually does not start until 6 January, all the details about the first episode are from people that went to a special showing of the episode in Tokyo this past December. This seems to be a thing now, studios holding a special showing of the first episode of an anime weeks or even months before it actually starts on TV (I think Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing started it).

    • Overlord-G says:

Well that’s too bad. I guess it’ll be a while before Shinigami Alice is finished then, IF it’ll ever be finished.

      • Stevie Nix says:

I just looked on Baka-Updates Manga and according to them, Shinigami Alice wasn’t canceled but ran for two volumes in total. So while yes Shinigami Alice did get a complete run (two volumes is about normal for a Yuri Hime series) unfortunately both groups that were working on it are no longer active. Probably the best hope is that Yuri Project picks it up.

By the way, I just watched episode 01 of Recorder to Randoresu. I really doubt I will continue it. The only good part was Mayu’s and Hana’s cameo and they ran away as fast as they could from it too.

    • Overlord-G says:

The show overall is disturbing but I’ll do my best to cover it. Besides, I’ll try to add it to my “appetizers review” special. Like I said in SA.com, did you notice WHO exactly was with our “Iono-sama award” winner? Get your brain workin’ dood!

    • Overlord-G says:

Indeed, we can count on Mayu’s squid like stare to save the day for all hr potential wives if they are ever put in danger of anything physically threatening or brain damaging.

Just one question… do u have time to sleep this winter? XD But seriously, I always wonder where do u get to watch all the new episodes? The only current anime I got to watch are from Crunchyroll, but they only stream a few new series per season (compared to many other unstreamed ones).

    • Overlord-G says:

I’ll let you know my secrets elder one. The thing is, it’s not that hard to keep up with all the shows. One/two episodes of the shows I care about usually air on Monday-Wednesday-Friday-Saturday-Sunday/ That means unless I feel like watching other shows that have ended or have time for a marathon, spending 30 minutes to 1 hour of my time watching anime isn’t hard. Anyway, go to your SA.com inbox for more details.
