Hey doods and peeps. How time flies, eh? I still can’t believe I’ve been writing reviews for over a year now. I was hoping to at least reach 150 by now but 131 is still an admirable accomplishment for someone who doesn’t post daily.
Anyway, I really don’t remember exactly why I started reviewing anime in the 1st place. I guess it all started when I joined animeforum.org.uk (friendliest anime site I’ve ever seen(Sorry GO). After two months of posting like crazy I noticed an anime review section and thought to myself “Hey, I like anime and I like narrating myself about anime so why not join the fray?” That’s it. I have no troubled past where anime saved my life, I have no personal issues with family, friends or girlfriends (I’m currently single ladies, hohoho), I have no gimmick where I talk trash on a daily basis, I just speak my mind and let it out.
Exactly one year after I joined animeforum, I created the G-Empire blog. The history behind the G-Empire’s resurrection is a long and complicated one that I don’t feel like sharing. All you need to know is that I used to be a member of Crunchyroll…there, that should give you an idea of why I’m here instead of there.
How do I feel about doing this for one year? Honestly I never thought I’d be doing this for so long. The reason I’m still doing it is because of the readers on AF. The fact that they’re still reading my stuff after all this time astounds me. Heck, even on other sites where the G-Views were broadcast it still had mild success but AF is where I’m currently popular. My blog’s doing okay but it’s apparent that I’m not plugging it properly due to lack of interesting content, my dislike of Twitter, Facebook (I have a FB account but barely use it), Myspace, 90% of Youtube users, Blackberries, iPhones and iPods. Besides, I’m perfectly happy with my life right now. College is the only spike stuck up my ass right now.
My future plans for this blog involve it lasting at least 3 years minimum. I won’t stop being an animeniac till my last breath or anime becomes extinct (Whichever comes first). Hopefully by that time I will have reviewed 200 anime or more.
I don’t know whether my other pages aside from GGE will continue or I’ll preserve them to save them from deletion since they bring back memories of what I used to write before shifting to anime and game reviews (The G-Tales and Poetry in Dismay). Only time will tell I suppose.
What else…….I think that’s it for now. All that’s left is to thank the people that made all of this possible.
The most High and Almighty GOD: for all my talents, creativity and desire to entertain.
Animeforum: For helping me find a new hobby to greatly enjoy besides collecting random stuff.
Shoujoai.com: For being the best home of yuri fans I’ve ever been a part of.
Listless Ink: For inspiring me to create this blog in the 1st place. Seriously, its thanks to Yi-san’s inadvertent motivation and support that this blog even exists.
EmptyBlue: For being an awesome broski.
AXYPB: For being an impressive psychologist and all of his team’s contributions to the glorious Sono Hanabira ni Kichizuke Wo series.
@fkeroge: For…ummmm…hmmm…being my first subscriber I guess.
SnippetTee: For being huggable and fun to talk to about anime. I don’t have Twitter so I can’t talk about other stuff…yet.
Chocokara: The nickname of one of my best bros in real life along with The Chinese man of wonders, “Jimmy” Leung.
Generationotaku: For giving me the freedom to practice being a heel due to the numerous members there I disliked, the feuds sparked there AND the creation of Clubless. I’m looking forward to the site’s resurrection in a few weeks.
Clubless: skyfish, Cuatro, Imprenji, Subarashikyun, niceguy, Dr. Insanor, Silver Reaper, Crooky Cy (Cyduck), Shinigami07, Daemon and Ru-sensei. Best club I’ve been a part of.
Crunchyroll: for teaching me the true meaning of the word “HATE!”
Rutaku: for being a cool substitute to GO.
Who else….I’ll remember eventually. Oh yeah.
This is The OG-Man saying: GOD bless you and your families, keep on rocking, take care, spike/wash/nab your hair. WOO WOO WOO! You know it!
